A vegetarian since the age of 14, Steven Bird has a strange relationship with food. That doesn’t stop him, however, from being able to appreciate cod à Brás at the restaurant Primavera do Jerónimo, or the vegetarian Boyarde at the café Buenos Aires. To get over the frustration of not being able to enjoy the full range of Portuguese cuisine, he takes it out on the sweets. Starting with the pastries of Tentúgal da Pousadinha and ending with those of Belém. He confesses he could spend a few days looking at the display of cakes in the window of the Pastelaria Versailles.
