One of the main attractions for the tourists is Marrakesh and Morocco's cultural tradition. The fact that it's an Arabic country with an enormous opening abroad ends up seducing the visitors. Here we can find out a bit more about the history and its origin.

The Pearl of the South counts on several monuments and spaces considered to be World Heritage. The list includes the Sultan's Palace, the Koutubia, the Agudal Park and the Praça Djemaa el Fna.The remains of the Sultan's Palace, known as Al Badi Palace (Rue Bessima) are an architectural heritage of the 16th century. It was built during the dynasty of Said Al-Mansur, but little remains from the original design since the space was a victim of pillage during the reign of the sultan Moulay Ismail. Still, it is possible to have a peek and imagine what the space was like in the past. The Koutubia (www.lesjardinsdelakoutoubia.com) is impossible not to visit in Marrakesh, especially because its tower (the minaret) is 70 metres high. It is a temple built in the second half of the 12th century and is one of the most important Maghreb mosques. To get to know the Arab and Moroccan culture in detail, a visit to the Dar Si Riad Palace cannot be avoided (Riad Ez-Zaitoun El Jadid), where the Museum of Moroccan Arts is located. Here we can observe collections of tapestry, fabrics, silver jewellery, weapons and tiles from the south of the Atlas and which will help understanding the Berber culture.
