Cosmopolitan city, Milan is known as the capital of fashion and design, but the capital of Lombardy for its location in northern Italy, can also be an excellent snow destination. A few kilometers away and with good access you’ll find varied winter resorts, ideal for a few days skiing or excellent spa treatments.

The province of Lombardy has gained more fans for winter holidays and the importance of this tourist section showing its results each year, making it a natural habit for those visiting Milan, the capital of the region. It is north of the province, more precisely in Sondrio where you’ll find several winter resorts, with excellent sport conditions. Bornio, which regularly hosts the ski World Cup and Livigno close to the border with Switzerland, divide the leadership. For those who like to combine skiing holidays and shopping, we recommend the area of Livigno, since this is tax-free zone and has the largest snow park in all of Italy, with nearly 400 kilometers of slopes, with very different degrees of difficulty and supporting infrastructures. Among the main ski resorts of the region (with many excellent thermal and spa treatments) stand out Libera of Bormio, with eighty kilometers of tracks and more than two dozens of cable cars transporting skiers to an altitude of three thousand meters, La Nera del Paradiso which includes Tonale, of easy access and one of the first infrastructures in the region and the Snowpark di Livigno, a true paradise for skiers and with several equipments aimed for snowboarding.
