Even if it is not a fashion capital as its neighbour Milan, Turin has all the great international designer brands and the largest open air market in Europe

If you head out to the hub between the Via Romana, the Piazza San Carlos, the Piazza Castello and the Via Garibaldi, there’s a great chance you will spend the whole day shopping. From the great international designer brands to the little family stores, as well as the leather goods and the design stores, the hardest part will be to refrain from that many temptations. Every second Sunday of each month, in the Piazza della Repubblica and in the area near the Palazzo Gate takes places the Gran Balôn, the largest open air market in Europe, an experience you shouldn’t miss out on. To more specific purchases, take our suggestion: the Abbazie (Via San Tommaso) to take home products made in several Italian convents and monasteries; the Via Po to buy books; the Parola (Corso Vittorio Emanuele) or the Vini Renato Rabezzana (Via San Francesco d'Assisi) to buy good wines; if your wish is to buy chocolates head towards Mamu Cao (Piazza Solferino), Gobina (Via Cagliari) or the Bottega Artigiana Croci (Via Principessa Clotilde.
