Nightlife

In Berlin it’s easy to stretch the day throughout the night. Among restaurants, pubs and clubs, there are plenty of breaks to choose from

As the summer begins, the transition from day to nighttime can be made Berliners’ style: drinking a beer at Cafe am neuen See, right in the middle of Tiergarten garden, in contact with nature. Another option is to pass by St. Oberholz café, in Rosenthaler Platz, a meeting point for locals, as well as for tourists. For dinner there are plenty of options, from German breweries to Japanese, Turkish, Italian of Indian restaurants. The Amrit, in Oranienburgerstrasse, is a fine example of Indian cuisine, although it is in the Italian Al Contadino Sotto le Stelle that you might bump into Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt. To extend nighttime, and since Berlin is one of the capitals of electronic music, try the Club der Visionaere and the Bar 25 (in Kreuzberg),, two nightclubs in which you can go dancing outdoors. Should you prefer a different ambience, go to Clarchens Ballhaus, where the tradition of popular ballrooms is kept. Thursday is ballroom night, with salsa and tango, and Sunday you can hop to the rhythm of dancing, valse and cha-cha-cha.
