Caracas has the intense rhythm of a city of millions of residents, but it can also be a good place to relax and be surprised by stunning landscapes.

Caracas is a huge city, but it is possible to turn off the bustle and find an oasis of tranquillity. Leisure and cultural offerings are common to other major urban centres, but a stroll through the gardens, a cable car ride or a hike up the mountain help to escape this intense pace for a few hours. Caracas is ideal for those who want entertainment, but also for those who look for tranquillity. Here you’ll find culture and history, but also sports and adventure. The climate is very pleasant, this being the reason for it to be called “City of Eternal Spring”. Average temperatures range between 15 degrees, in winter, and 28 degrees, in summer. Rain is more frequent between May and November. Travelling in the city is facilitated by public transportation, which is clean and safe. The subway system has four lines and 40 stations that cover practically the entire city. It runs between 5.30am and 11pm, allowing for the combination with the bus service which is operated by the same company, the Metrobus. There are other companies and co-ops that provide passenger road transportation. For safety sake, it is advisable to use only the official transportation services, identified by a yellow license plate. In the rainy season, there are, sometimes, outbursts of tropical diseases, so you should get previous information about the need for vaccines.
