Many babies or young children travel without occupying a seat, that is, they travel either in a child cradle or in their parents or accompanying adult’s lap. The airline company offers a child cradle for babies on flights but also allows a child’s own child cradle to be used if the Parents so choose. However, use of child cradle s is subject to certain guidelines:

• Baby weight should not exceed 10kg/22Ib;
  
• Child cradle dimensions are 70cm/27.5in in length by 30cm/12in in width;
  
• The weight of the child cradle and baby cannot exceed 15kg/33Ib with the weight of the child cradle not exceeding 4.25kg/9Ib;
  
• Given that there are specific seats on aircraft where child cradle s can be installed and consequently there are limited in number, the airline company should be informed at the time of booking of all flight legs on which a baby shall require a child cradle;
  
• The number of seats available for child cradle s varies according to the type of aircraft, and in the event there is availability this is immediately confirmed when a booking is made;
  
• Each adult may carry one baby only.
