Up to the Place
In the continuation of harmonization of procedures resulting from the service agreement for passenger air transportation, we inform that passengers that travel with wheel chairs, have great difficulty in mobility or are dependant on others should, for their own comfort and safety, travel accompanied.
However, if a passenger intends to travel alone assuring that he/she is able to ensure his/her physical mobility he/she is allowed to do so, provided that the passenger is alerted to the fact that:
- TAP accepts such passengers to travel unescorted, but it is not obliged to provide them any on-board assistance that contravenes passengers statement of self reliance, such as assistance in the toilet, lifting, carrying or feeding passengers.
The passenger does not need medical authorization to travel. It will only be necessary if health problems arise and to investigate treatment of a medical case.
A waiting list for a wheel chair is not permitted.
On-Board Wheel Chair
On wide body aircraft, a specially developed on-board wheelchair is available to passengers with reduced mobility so that they can also use the toilets without problems during long flights.
