Entertainment for everyone
A319, A320 and A321 aircraft are equipped with ceiling mounted screens where you can enjoy content on:
- Cartoons and much more.
On board our A330's (Pedro Nunes, Vasco da Gama, João XXI, João Gonçalves Zarco and Fernão de Magalhães) with the OnAir Wi-Fi system, during the flight you can access the Internet on your computer, tablet or smartphone. You will find instructions and a price list in your seat-back pocket or on the web session home page.
Magazines and newspapers on TAP flights
Your in-flight reading is available on the screen of your mobile device. The newspapers and magazines must be downloaded before boarding, and can be read offline on your smartphone or tablet. This free service is available via the TAP mobile app (valid only for TAP Clients travelling on flights operated by the company).
Depending on the rules of your fare, you will have access to a different number of publications on each flight. More informations about TAP Digital Kiosk
On all flights you will find the ward-winning UP Magazine, TAP´s in-flight magazine.
Note: As from 1 September 2015, free physical newspapers and magazines will only be available in business class on long haul flights, in the ANA Schengen Lounge, Blue Lounge an in the TAP Premium Lounge at Funchal. Outside Portugal, you can still find physical newspapers in the Star Alliance Lounge (São Paulo - Guarulhos), Sala VIP (São Paulo – Viracopos), LH Lounge (New York), Italviages Lounge (Caracas), LAM (Maputo) and Sala Welwicha TAAG (Luanda).
Entertainment for children
Children aged between 4 and 11 will be given an eco-friendly tin containing: an eye mask, coloured pencils, sharpener, toothbrush, toothpaste and a soft rattle (for children aged between 0 and 3).
We also have a children’s music channel available on our entire Airbus A330 and A340 fleet.
In economy class, TAP offers a meal suitable for the time and duration of each flight that is inspired by the creativity of our consulting chefs and made with fresh ingredients of the highest quality.
What types of meals are served on TAP?
- Hot meal: meal with a hot main dish served on a tray
- Cold light meal: a light meal consisting of a cold sandwich on long-haul flights, and a box with a cold sandwich on medium-haul flights
- Cold meal: meal consisting of a cold main dish served on a tray
- Snack: an individually packed sweet or salty snack, mini sandwich
Note: In the event of an irregularity, the type of meal offered may be changed without prior notice.

Beginning 07 March 2016, special meals will no longer be served in Economy Class on domestic flights, flights to/from Morocco and Algeria and European flights of less than 4 hours.
On all other flights, all special meals served are free for TAP passengers.
Special meals with TAP
Since each passenger is special, TAP provides an onboard special meals service (subject to confirmation and availability).
Requests for this service must be made up to 24 hours before departure. If you require a special meal, please make sure you request the correct meal when you make your online reservation, through TAP Contact Center, TAP desk, your travel agent or, if you are a Victoria Client, through the Victoria Assistance Center.
The list of special meals that can be provided on request is shown below.
Long-haul: code and name of free special meals for booking through the Contact Center, at the TAP counter or with your travel agent:

TAP will only confirm special meals (including for food allergies and intolerances) on flights of 4 hours’ duration or over:
On intercontinental flights (Economy and Business Class) all meals can be confirmed, except:
- on flights departing from Accra, DBML and GFML meals will not be served;
- on flights departing from Sal, HNML meals will not be served;
- on flights departing from Praia, AVML, BLML, HNML and MOML meals will not be served;
- on flights departing from Bamako, DBML and GFML meals will not be served;
- on flights departing from São Vicente and Boa Vista, only KSML meals will be served.
On European flights lasting 4 hours or more (in Economy Class) the following meals can be ordered: DBML, GFML, MOML, VGML, KSML, CHML, VLML and SPML.
On European flights (Business Class) all meals can be confirmed.
Please note: It is not possible to confirm special meals in Business or Economy Class on European flights that stop overnight at certain airports supplied with meals for outward and return flights.
Requests for special meals should be made at least 24 hours before flight departure. For flights leaving Luanda, KSML meals must be requested at least 72 hours before flight departure.
Food allergies and intolerance:
- If you have a severe allergy to a certain type of food, you can ask for a special meal suitable for your needs when you book your flight, or up to 72 hours before departure. If you have a severe allergy from inhalation/airborne exposure to a food, TAP cannot guarantee that the cabin will be free of the allergen in question, nor can the airline control the foods/products that other passengers may bring on board. Before travelling, we recommend that you see your doctor and, if necessary, bring appropriate medication for your condition with you in your carry-on luggage. Please note that peanuts and derivatives are served on most of our flights.
In TAP economy class you will find reclinable seats, leg room and much more.
And because we know that comfort is essential on a flight, we have redesigned the interior of our A340s. You’ll find more distance between seats and seats that are more reclinable.

On long-haul flights on A340 and A330 aircraft, we also have blankets, pillows and headphones available for you.
If you travel with tap|basic, tap|classic or tap|plus, you can also choose your seat ahead of time by contacting our Contact Centre.
With the new routes opening from Lisbon to Boston (June 11th, 2016) and to New York - JFK (July 01st, 2016), you'll be abble to fly on the new A330 (A332 - former Azul equipment), that will have two different Economy Cabin Classes:
- The common Economy Class;
- The new Economy Plus Class, that for your own confort will offer you bigger space between all seats.
Like this, for all the bookings made from April 28th, 2016, passengers that travel on these new routes (from the refered dates), and that wish to travel with bigger space from the front seat, booking a seat on Economy Plus, will be abble to do it after paying 25.00€, if booked until 72 hours before the flight.
This new ancillary service will allow date or flight changing (remaining with the same service), but it's not refoundable and at this moment it's available for selling on every TAP sales channel (Contact Center, Stores, Airport or at flytap.com through "Manage Booking").
For passengers travelling in tap|plus and Victoria Gold passengers travelling in any class, the seat booking on Economy Plus Cabin is free.
