Funds raised from the range of donations collected will be used by UNHCR so refugees can be supplied with food, shelter and other materials essential to their survival.

Helpin is currently developing a project in the area of nutrition: “Hunger & Poor Nutrition”, focusing in particular on combating anemia with a view to preventing and treating the disease, concentrating on food supplements using a range of supplements enriched with micro-nutrients. High levels of anemia are seen at refugee camps and these are responsible for increased death rates, above all in children and women during labor, and also contribute to the proliferation of other associated diseases.

About UNHCR:

The High Commissariat of the United Nations for Refugees – UNHCR was created by a Resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 14 1950 for a three-year mandate with the mission of helping relocate European refugees after World War II.
