Nightlife

Caracas has restaurants that are true ambassadors of the gastronomy of the globe. This is the starting point for an entertaining night out, which of course has to include the caliente rhythms of the rumba, salsa and merengue.

Choosing a place to dine is almost like going around the world without leaving the city: from Germany to Thailand, the most famous gastronomies are present in Caracas. From sushi to South-American grilled meats, without forgetting the vegetarians, there is no lack of choice to dine well and start the night in the best possible way. The El Rosal, Las Mercedes, La Floresta and La Catellana areas are the liveliest during the night period. Here you’ll also find many cafés where you can relax a little and decide if you want to go out or rather stay and just talk. Many entertainment places are only open from Wednesday to Sunday, but there is always a place to have a drink. Las Mercedes has a more refined atmosphere. The AK Bar, the American Bar, the Ayuma Café and the modern and chic nightclub Ziba are some of the places for diversion in this area. In Castellana, Collins is the ideal place to start the night. If you want to adventure out to salsa and merengue, the El Maní és Así or the Tropicana Café are a must. The La Belle Époque has three distinct spaces; you’ll just need to choose what you feel like doing: listen to live music, engage in conversation or dance to techno beat. The Loft, in La Castellana, bedazzles by its innovation. Aside from a roof that opens to let in the stars, it has suspended tables.
