In a city that breathes art, museums, theaters and operas as part of a cultural agenda, this can not be left out from the Venice Biennale, one of the most prestigious cultural events around the world.

The Venice Biennale (www.labiennale.org) a benchmarks approach to culture in the city. Since 1895 it has a key role in the dissemination of new trends in architecture, art, cinema, dance, music and theater. Held in odd years, since its foundation in 1895, it has been in the avant-garde, promoting new artistic trends and organising international events in contemporary arts. This year until November, are scheduled: Festival of Contemporary Dance (15 May), the Festival of Contemporary Art (June to November), the Film Festival (between August 31 and September 10), the Festival Contemporary Music (from 24 September to 1 October), and Theatre Festival (10-16 October). The Venice Film Festival is held annually. Outside the scope of the Biennale, visiting museums, like the Ca 'Pesaro Museum of Contemporary Art - (www.museiciviciveneziani.it) or Ca'Rezzonico, which has a vast collection of art from the eighteenth century, are almost mandatory. The Peggy Guggenheim Museum (www.guggenheim-venice.it) is a landmark in European and American art from the twentieth century. The city's cultural program will also include the 11 existing rooms, with special emphasis on the Fenice Theatre (www.teatrolafenice.it), which besides being a beautiful building is the setting for opera, theater and dance.
