About the City
Torino, one of the new TAP destinations for 2012, is the largest business and cultural center of Northwest Italy. Being the regional capital of Piemonte, its airport serves more than 4.5 million citizens.
The city is well recognized for its baroque architecture, making it one of the largest centers of tourist attraction in Italy.
In the "Duomo", built in between 1497 and 1498, is kept the Holy Shroud, an ancient linen cloth in which, according to tradition, the body of Christ was wrapped whilst coming down from the Cross. This can only be seen during exhibitions, the last of which took place in 2010. However there is a copy preserved in the Church of San Lorenzo in Piazza Castello.
The Egyptian Museum, the Palazzo Reale, Palazzo Madama, the Mole Antonelliana , home of the National Museum of Cinema and Reggia di Venaria Reale, deserve a closer look as they are icons of Torino’s monumental history.
Home of the largest Italian car company Fiat, Torino is also revealed as the largest economic center of the Piemonte’s Region. The National Automobile Museum, restructured in 2011, is unmissable.
The city has everything one needs for a perfect stay, with award-winning landmarks, a unique cultural offer, great shopping and lively nightlife, not to mention a great variety in accommodation and restaurants where you can enjoy the excellence gastronomic and wine delicacies of Piemonte.
TAP offers 04 weekly frequencies, in a direct flight departing Lisbon, which allied with an attractive fare package, will make Torino the perfect choice for a weekend getaway.

Apart from Torino, the Piemonte region offers a vast artistic and cultural heritage which finds its highest expression in the 17 Royal Residences, a unique treasure chosen by UNESCO as a World Heritage, alongside with the "Sacri Monti," monuments of the Christian faith , among which we recommend the "Sacro Monte di Varallo," also known as the "New Jerusalem ."
The extraordinary natural beauty and landscape are also worth a stroll: ideal mountains for those who love outdoor activities, the lovely Maggiore and Orta lakes, the splendored villages’ gardens and historic buildings, the famous Langhe, Roero and Monferrato hills, whose vineyards hold great wines like Barolo and Barbaresco, candidates to join UNESCO’s Heritage.
Piemonte’s region also offers numerous opportunities for you to relax and enjoy, thanks to major cultural events and wide range of recreational activities that make it a unique destination and a friendly one (www.piemonteitalia.eu).
With the launch of this new flight destination, TAP strengthens its presence in Italy, with a total offer of 93 direct flights per week to five cities in the country.
Currently, TAP flies from Lisbon to Rome (28 flights per week), Milan (26 flights per week), Venice and Bologna (7 flights per week). From Oporto, TAP conducts a daily flight to Rome and two daily flights to Milan.
