By adhering to the principles of the UN Global Compact, TAP shall witness and coexist with concerns associated with the environment, integrating these in its activities.

With TAP’s membership of the global STAR Alliance on March 14 2005 and the signing of the important Environmental Commitment document of the alliance, TAP has increased its commitment to protecting the environment.

In this respect and in accordance with its sustainable development policy TAP is guided by the following principles pertinent to the Environment:

• Integrate environmental issues into all activities implemented by the Company;
• Use eco-efficient practices and technologies that reconcile growth with protection of the environment;
• Promote the continual improvement of its environmental performance;
• Promote the environmental awareness of Employees and Suppliers;
• Respect for the fundamental environmental principles of the UN Global Compact.
