Alterations and cancellations
We would like to remind you that alterations and cancellations are subject to the fare conditions that you booked. If you paid different fares for different legs of your journey, please note that the rules on alterations and cancellations apply per leg and may therefore be different, depending on the leg that you wish to change.
Passengers may cancel a paid booking without penalty within 24 hours of making the booking and provided that the booking was made at least 7 days before the flight departure.
Some fares may involve penalties for alterations or cancellations. They may even not be reimbursable and not allow alterations. You can view the fare conditions on the purchase page when booking online before completing the purchase of your ticket.
However, if you do not know your fare conditions or you are not sure, please contact your nearest TAP office.
E-Ticket (Electronic Ticket)TAP only issues e-tickets. With an e-ticket, there is no waste of time, you do not have to go out of your way and there is no danger of losing your ticket.
An e-ticket does not involve any changes in booking or payment procedures. After planning your journey, you will be sent an e-mail confirming your booking and issuing your e-ticket.
Collecting your ticket at the desk
If your journey or the length of time between booking and departure makes it impossible to issue e-tickets, you can collect them at a TAP counter or general sales agent.
Please note that you will have to collect your ticket up to 72 hours after completing your online booking. Your booking will be automatically cancelled if you fail to do so.
Lost or stolen tickets
A hard-copy (paper) ticket that has been lost or stolen can be replaced provided that the passenger signs a TAP form taking responsibility for any fraudulent use of the lost or stolen ticket.
TAP tickets for domestic flights, i.e. flights in mainland Portugal and Madeira and the Azores cannot be replaced.
European flights: EUR 100 (except to and from Spain: EUR 50)

The company identifies the customer and informs the retailer's system that the card used for payment is legitimate.
The aim is to benefit all those involved by reducing the probability of fraudulent use of credit cards and improving transaction performance. This protocol is used by Visa with the flag Verified By Visa and Mastercard with the Secure Code sign.
The price of a trip depends on a number of factors and airline companies offer different types of ticket fares from the lowest priced and most restrictive to the highest price and least restrictive.
Here are some tips for finding the cheapest fares:
Book in advanceVery often, lower or special offer ticket fares can only be bought far in advance in relation to the respective departure date. By booking in advance you will find seats available at the best prices. The closer the booking date is to departure, less are your chances of finding the best ticket fares as these are always the most sought after and have a limited number of seats available.
Night of Saturday to SundayTry to spend the night of Saturday to Sunday at your chosen destination. Some of the lowest ticket fares have this restriction.
Avoid travelling during the high seasonTravel during the high season only when necessary. Seats sell out quickly during these periods of the year and the best ticket fares are the first to be sold. It is also common for there to be more sales during the low season as more seats are available.
PromotionsVisit the TAP website regularly and subscribe to our Newsletter. This is one of the best ways to discover our more special sales offers at first hand.
Good Planning - Greater SavingsDon't forget that the best ticket fares are more restrictive and require careful travel planning. Many of these ticket fares do not allow any alterations or reimbursement after the ticket has been issued and even when alterations are allowed these will be subject to penalties. Depending on the destination, it may be less expensive to buy a less restrictive ticket than pay a penalty for alterations made to the trip.
Web Fares are only on sale via the TAP website.
You will not find these fares through any other sales outlet. The type of price is duly indicated during the booking process.
