TAP honored to its best cargo sales' reps in the northern region of the country in 2008 by awarding TOP TAP Cargo Northern Zone trophies at a ceremony that brought together various cargo agents and TAP cargo staff members.
NCL took first place in the 2008 TOP TAP Cargo Northern Region followed by the agencies Trevomar, ETE Logisitica, All Ways Cargo and Abreu Carga.
Totalplan was awarded distinction in honorable mentions as the “Greatest Progress”, Extra was singled out in the “Best Productivity” category and JCP took the “Greatest Fidelity” trophy.
The 2008 TOP TAP Cargo Porto awards’ ceremony included the presence of Jose Anjos, Cargo & Mail Director and other managers from TAP Cargo as well as various representatives from cargo shipping agents.
At the ceremony, Jose Anjos revealed that “the Northern Zone with 10.5 million euros increased by 17 percent its profit from the previous year remaining ahead of important TAP markets such as the United States, Italy and the United Kingdom.”
“Luanda was by far the primary destination having increased respective production by 71 percent compared with 2007. Cargo to Angola currently represents around 53 percent of total sales in the Northern Zone, followed by Brazil at 12 percent", commented the TAP Cargo manager.
In overall figures, TAP Cargo ended 2008 with sales of 128 million euros, corresponding to a 15 percent increase in relation to the previous year, having transported 93 thousand tons of cargo. This was the best result in the history of TAP Cargo.
