“With this new TAP route, Warsaw is gaining an important route. The start-up of Warsaw - Lisbon flights is the most important of the summer period, enabling an increase in the direct flights our airport offers and which already amount to more than 83 through 32 different airline companies", points out Michal Marzec, general director of Polish Airports “State Enterprise”. “The TAP decision proves that even during a period of economic slowdown there are opportunities for investment. I am certain that this option will be profitable since for Poland, Lisbon was a market with a level of demand unattended to as yet in terms of flight connections".
Warsaw, the new TAP destination, is revealing itself to be very popular and already has 15,000 bookings up to the end of the year.
TAP hence manages to increase and diversity its European network, adding on Poland, considered to be one of the countries with the largest and most relevant growth in Eastern Europe in terms of business and leisure passenger traffic.
In addition to responding to the needs and expectations of customers and increasing its contribution to the increase in tourism between the two countries, TAP offers passengers from Poland the best connecting flights to its domestic network as well as more convenient, quicker and direct flights from Lisbon to Brazil – where TAP flies to eight different destinations, 67 flights a week – or to TAP destinations in Africa.
The increasing popularity of Portugal as a tourist destination, the high quality services offered by TAP and the strong economic ties between the two countries are reasons for believing that this new route will be a commercial success.
