Upon Arrival

Travelling over several time zones is associated with jet lag, which causes various physiological manifestations: sleep disruption, bowel symptoms, concentration problems, fatigue, etc.

Try to adapt rapidly to your destination's time zone by having meals and sleep periods at the same times as the locals. Walk about and get some sun, if possible.

For very short stays it might be preferable to keep to your home time zone.

Melatonin is a hormone that is secreted by the pineal gland and whose blood levels rise at night. Although controversial, it is advised by many for jet lag prevention. It appears to be relatively safe, but its effects in the long run are unknown.

Your airline's travel clinic may help you with your flight related doubts and health queries.
