2008-07-09

The new A330-220 aircraft in the TAP fleet delivered by Airbus took its first return commercial flight yesterday in company service between Lisbon and Salvador, Bahia. With a capacity of 268 passengers the new aircraft joins the fleet of eleven A330-200 currently in service at TAP.

Under the registration number CS-TOP and the name “Pedro Nunes”, the new TAP A330-200 will today make its second flight in the Portuguese airline livery on the Lisbon - Rio de Janeiro - Lisbon route, departing the Portuguese capital at 3:35pm.

The A330-200 offers passengers high standards of comfort and includes a range of technological innovations. The aircraft has a flight autonomy of up to 12,500km fully seated and cargo compartments capable of accommodating standard transport pallets and containers side by side. It also offers excellent operational flexibility making it suited to service on a wide range of routes, enabling very low destination/aircraft use operating costs. Its operational efficiency and the superior level of comfort it offers passengers represent a competitive advantage.
