TAP has started offering its passengers daily flights between Portugal and Argentina, the result of the widening of its existing code-share agreement between the Portuguese airline company and the Brazilian TAM airline company.
TAP already offered multiple options on flights to a range of Brazilian state capitals and cities served by TAM and is also now commercializing flights operated by TAM under its own code to the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina via Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
With this new connection, in addition to being able to find cheaper fares, passengers can check-in and dispatch their luggage as soon as they depart from Lisbon or Porto and only take in technical stop-offs at Rio and Sao Paulo airports hence reducing overall travel time.
The partnership agreement in force since September 2007 also extends to TAM Fidelity and TAP Victoria programs and the entire service network offered by the two companies, creating multiple options for miles to be earned and the use of prize tickets.
“The widening of the agreement between TAM and TAP will afford passengers more ease when traveling between Portugal and Argentina. We hope to extend this new phase of the partnership to other destinations in South America", says TAM Planning & Alliance VP, Paulo Castello Branco.
“The success of our partnership is evident”, pointed out Jose Guedes Dias, Director of TAP Alliances & Foreign Affairs, “and the gradual widening of the context of our cooperation demonstrates the commitment both companies have to ensuring increasingly more convenient and differentiated services for our Customers in terms of the quality and range of our offer. The mutual synergy between the TAP and TAM airline networks enables us to ensure more convenient flights between Portugal and Brazil and now also to Argentina".
TAP believes that this increased cooperation with TAM will lead to a considerable improvement in the services and range of options it offers its customers, reflecting the priority goal of the company in anticipating and satisfying the growing needs of its passengers.
