TAP present at largest Logistics, Transport & International Trade event in the Americas

TAP is taking part in the 15th Edition of Intermodal, the largest and most important gathering dedicated to the logistics, transport and international trade sectors in the Americas. Held in Sao Paulo, the major Brazilian originating city for TAP of cargo and mail transport to Europe, the event brings together 45 thousand professionals and around 450 national and international stand expositors, including TAP represented by its Executive Administrator Luis Ribeiro Vaz, as well as its Cargo & Mail Director Jose Anjos and other managers and heads of Sales in Portugal and other major European markets.

At the opening ceremony on April 14, Intermodal which runs until 16, Mauro Arce, Secretary of Transport for the State of Sao Paulo and Ana Paula Vitorino, Secretary of State for Transport in Portugal were present as well as other personalities.

At the occasion, Ana Paula Vitorino emphasized that in the current world economic situation, events of this nature take on importance in transforming a crisis situation into opportunities, attentive to the fact Portugal offers modern and competitive infrastructure "equipped with a level of efficiency not found in other countries”.

Offering 67 flights a week to Brazil and serving eight different destinations – Rio and Sao Paulo in the southeast; Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza and Natal in the northeast; Brasilia and Belo Horizonte, and a capacity of 140 tons a day in cargo and mail transport, TAP is the airline company with the largest volume of flights between Brazil and Europe, taking on a major role in the transport of passengers and cargo. With TAP transporting around 17 thousand tons of cargo from Brazil in 2008, Portugal is the preferential port of entry for Brazilian exports.
