TAP Victoria for a better world

This Christmas, the TAP Victoria Programme has again linked up with humanitarian and charitable institutions, inviting the programme's members to donate miles to the Portuguese Red Cross, AMI (International Medical Assistance) and Terra dos Sonhos (“Land of Dreams”). This year, the initiative is joining forces with some new partner institutions - Helpin and in Brazil, the Street Child’s World Cup.

Over 6.5 million miles were donated by TAP Victoria members in 2008, contributing towards a range of aid and charitable projects and towards sending volunteers from non-governmental organizations to various locations in need of humanitarian assistance.

You can donate miles until 28 February 2010 at the TAP Victoria Programme website, at  www.tapvictoria.com.

AMI (International Medical Assistance): Founded in December 1984, AMI combats intolerance and indifference towards victims of war, natural disasters and extreme poverty.

Portuguese Red Cross: Founded in 1865, the Portuguese Red Cross covers several humanitarian missions both in Portugal and abroad.

Terra dos Sonhos (“Land of Dreams”): Founded on 1 June 2007, International Children’s Day, Terra dos Sonhos is an organization whose main mission is to bring true the dreams of children and adolescents with chronic and/or terminal phase illnesses.

HELPIN: A virtual network of Portuguese partners for international refugee assistance, Helpin is a social welfare initiative that comes under the United Nations and is coordinated by the UNHCR. Its mission is to guarantee the international protection of refugees and find lasting solutions for the problems they face.

SCWC - Street Child’s World Cup: With the support of TAP, the ABC Trust will take the Brazilian team to the Street Children’s World Cup to be held in March 2010 in Durban, South Africa.
