Is it safe to use my credit card online?
We are aware that sending personal information is a great concern to customers that use the Internet. We only request your credit card details in the event you wish to make a booking. The security offered is performed using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology that is based on the encryption of the communication produced between your personal computer and our server to ensure the same cannot be intercepted.
Information about your credit card is requested if you wish to make a booking and the route chosen has the option of E-Ticket (Electronic Ticket) issue.

3D Secure
3D Secure is a communications’ protocol that was developed to improve payment security on the Internet and make it possible to verify the credit card holder at the bank that issues their card.
When making a payment at an online shop a process is activated which checks whether the card used is valid or not. If it is, the security systems incorporated in the 3D Secure protocol verify the customer’s identity checking with the credit card company in real time. The company identifies the customer and informs the retailer’s system that the card used for payment is legitimate.
The aim is to benefit all those involved by reducing the probability of fraudulent use of credit cards and improving transaction performance.
This protocol is used by Visa with the flag Verified By Visa and Mastercard with the Secure Code sign.

ATM
Whenever you make an online booking and your flight departs from any location in Portugal, ATM payment methods are also available to you.
If you select ATM as a payment method this means you must pay for your trip at an ATM machine (or via Homebanking).
After concluding your booking you will be presented with a confirmation page with your booking details as well as the necessary information for you to make an ATM payment: TAP reference number, payment reference number and total amount payable. These are the references that will have to be filled out at the ATM terminal. These details will also be sent to the e-mail address you indicated during the booking process.
If you select this option you will have until 11:59PM of the day following the one on which you made the booking in which to make the payment. If payment is not completed during this period the booking will be automatically cancelled.
Payment via ATM is only available for cards issued in Portugal: Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard and Maestro, and for use at ATM terminals in Portugal.
