Some areas of Amsterdam are full of museums in every corner. There is wide offer for all tastes and with several themes: Starting from the Museum of Cinema, to photography, beer, sex or of torture. The cultural aspect of this "Venice of the North" is that it is one of the richest, and even in the streets there artists, live bands in bars and cafes, and frequent festivals throughout the year. Dozens of museums make of it a city with history. The Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum are the most sought. But there other places of lesser known but cannot be missed, for example, the new Public Library of Amsterdam or the Haarlemmeerdijk street (with a Portuguese shop www.adega.nl) or Spuistraat street with street art. For movie lovers, how about a visit to the old movie theater "The Movies "? Theatre is watchword in Amsterdam and can you find numerous different shows every night, especially in the area of Leidseplein. In summer, festivals flood the city parks. One example is in July, the Open Air Theater in Vondelpark. There are also other famous festivals such as the Holland Festival, or the IDFA Film Festival.
