There are over 200 museums that make Budapest a true city of culture and knowledge. If you do not have time to visit all - which is likely - you can learn at least which ones you should not miss.

Budapest is a true capital of European culture. With a rich cultural life and strong historical origins, offering tourists and not only them, compelling reasons to return. Most museums (over 200) and theaters are located in various palaces and monuments, which allow visitors to learn even more on the city's history. Here you will find museums for all tastes, transport, weapons, communication, flags, stamps and even dolls. Among these the ones you should not miss are the Museum of Arts and the Holocaust. Classical music is a big attraction in the city, so be sure to go to the Ferenc Erkel Operas, the Erkel Theatre, the Merlin Theatre and Operetta Theatre. The Magyar Állami Operaház (Opera House) is the most important cultural stage of Budapest, which hosts opera and ballet performances. Founded in 1884, it has statues of Beethoven, Mozart and Verdi. Imre Varga Museum in Gyüjtemény (Imre Varga Collection) has some of the sculptor’s best works. Outside is a beautiful garden that can visit. End the day at the Parliament (Orszaghaz) for politics is also culture. The dome is 96 meters high and building over 260 meters long.
