Munich breathes fresh air. All over town, there are several green areas where to escape and enjoy calm moments with nothing but nature. After a walk, pass by one of the many biergarten (beer gardens) and do it the traditional way: have a beer and a sausage.

Nature and green areas go hand in hand in Munich. The city’s residents have become used to living with their relaxing parks, which are like their second home. The first impression one has of Munich is that it is a clean and well taken care of city, where one can breathe lightly. The buzz and the stress of a large metropolis exist too, but they are almost relegated to a second plan. The Münchners love to walk, but they also love staying at esplanades and having a beer. One of the favourite places to do this is the Englischer Garten (English Garden). This is where you can find the city’s most renowned breweries. The English Garden, one of the biggest urban parks in the world, is a place with a unique beauty. The Nymphenburg Palace served as a Summer residency for the governors of Bavaria and is an equally fascinating location. The gardens around it are breath-taking. The Hofgarten, located between Münchner Residenz and the Englischer Garten, is also one of the most popular places, and attracts thousands of people every year.
