Going out for a drink in Luxembourg can be more difficult than it looks in a city of such an extent. However, Luxembourg hosts a wide choice of clubs with varied music styles for target audiences ranging from 20 to 40 years old. Cosmopolitan, young and multicultural, going out at night can be very surprising.

Being traditionally cultural, the city offers a variety of concerts, dance shows, operas and theatre plays. As such, you may well start your night in Luxembourg with one of these programmes. Check the agendas of Philharmonie Luxembourg or Cube 521, a cultural centre with a wide offer of jazz, classical music, theatre and dance events. After the show, head to the city areas where most clubs concentrate: the narrow streets of the old town and the Place d’Armes esplanades or the areas of Grund and Rives de Clausen. This part of the city was built on the industrial zone where some ancient breweries were placed. Near Place d’Armes, try Vis-à-vis, a local club which faithfully impersonates the Luxembourgers state of mind, before going dancing at VIP, an elegant, sophisticated discotheque with low tourist attendance, or at the nearby White Room. If you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere, try Secret Garden Club, an elegant and extremely comfortable lounge with ambient music, medium lighting and an indoor garden. In the Grund area, don’t miss the Café Les Artists, a very old classic mostly illuminated with candles. You can also choose Scott’s, a two-storey Irish pub with a delicious roof terrace overlooking the river, and 70's music, or DQliq, a typically alternative venue with electronic music nights and many DJ guests.
