TAP Portugal starts a new service from the North West’s major airport with six weekly flights to Lisbon, commencing June 1st.
Steeped in maritime history and known for its charming yellow trams that climb the steep cobbled streets of the old city; along with an outstanding culinary reputation, local wines and outdoor lifestyle, Lisbon makes a superb weekend break or stopover destination.
The new TAP service is operated by Airbus aircraft; offering a 2-class service, travelling in style with TAP Executive or Economy class. Included in the price of a TAP air ticket are the following:
- Victoria frequent flyer miles
- Free on-line boarding pass issuance
- Free on board beverages/snacks/meals
- Free golf club carriage (up to 15kgs per customer)
- Free advance seat selection
- Free generous checked & on-board baggage allowances
- Free lounge access (restrictions apply)
- No debit or credit fees.
Due to the schedule, flights will connect with major destinations in the USA, Brazil and Africa – and support the current flight operations from London Heathrow and London Gatwick.
With the inauguration of this new connection TAP is hoping to increase the traffic flows between Europe and Lisbon, thereby consolidating the competitiveness of its hub in Lisbon and the traffic on its long haul routes with the popular destinations such as Miami, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to name a few. Also envisaged by TAP is an increase in passenger flow between Europe and Latin America, founded on its partnerships with other members of the Star Alliance.
