1 - Who can use Online Check-in?

Answer

Online Check-in can be used by all passengers that are holders of electronic ticket with confirmed reservations (not available to passengers on resident or student ticket tariffs), are travelling with or without baggage, on flights operated by TAP or Portugalia departing from the following cities to the entire TAP network (except for the USA):

Note: If you have been asked to confirm your credit card details in person at a TAP ticket desk or during your check-in you will not be able to check-in online.

  • Angola (Luanda - only available from 24 hours in advance and up to 5 hours prior to your flight's departure)
  • Belgium (Brussels)
  • Brazil (Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Fortaleza, Natal, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Sao Paulo)
    NB: When travelling with or without baggage you MUST proceed to the tap|executive class ticket desk so the boarding fee seal can be affixed to your Boarding Card without which you will not be allowed access to your boarding gate.
  • Croatia (Zagreb)
    NB: For this city of departure, you will be directed to our Star Alliance partner – Lufthansa in order to do your online check-in.

Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS)
This system has been adopted by several countries and requires airline companies to collect specific information about each passenger. 
If your itinerary includes one or more of these countries, you will be asked to provide identification details during the online check-in procedure and before you are able to print your boarding pass.
Data include your passport or identity card number and expiry date, country of issue, first and last names, sex, date of birth and nationality.
