According to the US Transportation Security Administration (TSA) all air carriers operating from/to the USA must collect and transmit full Secure Flight Passenger Data, which include the Redress Number, in case the passenger has applied for one. The Redress Number is a seven digit reference supplied by the DHS Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (TRIP) to help passengers who have been denied or delayed airline boarding and/or submitted to additional screening during their travel to avoid inconveniences or delays that may result from mistaken identity.
