Credit card

Credit cards are the most popular method used for bookings.

You can choose one of the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners and UATP, and your card will be debited immediately.

The MBNet service is available, but presently only in Portugal.

When booking an e-ticket less than 24 hours before the flight’s departure you may not be able to complete the operation for security reasons. If this happens we suggest you contact TAP.

Note: Visa, Mastercard and American Express are only available for bookings made at least 24 hours before departure; Diners and UATP cards are not available to TAP Miles&Go Clients.

Airplus Debit Account

Paying by debit card incurs no additional charges and is of particular use to businesses and corporate clients.

Multibanco ATM and Homebanking

You can also pay by a bank reference number that is generated when you book.

This method is available for bookings made a minimum of 6 hours before departure, if the booking is made through flytap.com, or 24 hours beforehand if made on the TAP Miles&Go or TAP Corporate websites.

The payment details (entity number, reference number and amount) are provided on the confirmation page when the booking is completed. The details are also sent to your email address.

Payment by Multibanco ATM is in the “Services” sections and the operation is only permitted for debit cards issued in Portugal.

The payment of flights by this method has the following time limits:  

 

  • For flights scheduled to depart within 24hours, the payment must be made within 3 hours;
  • For bookings of flights scheduled to depart between 72hours and 24hours, the payment must be made within 6hours;
  • For bookings of flights scheduled to depart over 72hours later, the payment must be made within 18hours.

 

If the payment is not made in the indicated time limit, the booking will be automatically cancelled.

PayPal

PayPal is a system of money transfer through an email account which allows for secure payments.

This system covers worldwide bank accounts and credit cards.

Security

PayPal offers one of the securest payment platforms in the world.

All the financial information (bank account details and credit card number) is stored and carefully encrypted on this system’s servers: the personal data of each user is totally confidential.

Another of the benefits associated with the PayPal system is the Purchase Protection Program. Under this program, if a user does not receive a product they bought or has not authorised a certain payment they can get that amount back.

How to use PayPal

The PayPal system is very simple to use and it is used by more than 123 million people worldwide. It is an accessible and secure way to pay for your purchases on the Internet, on your smartphone or tablet.

Creating a PayPal account is completely free: simply register a credit card and you will be able to make purchases over the internet.

The information is entered only once and when you make any purchase you only need to enter the email address and password to authorise any payment.

Payment at ticket desks

Payments at ticket desks can be made using:
  • credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club and UATP);
  • debit card;
  • certified cheque;
  • and cash (except Heathrow Airport, in London).
