    The Victoria Programme wins a "Freddie Award"

    The Victoria Programme has been distinguished with another international award, at the 27th edition of the Freddie Awards. The ceremony took place in Jersey City, New Jersey (USA), where the best frequent flyer loyalty programmes, from airlines all over the world, were recognised.

    Nominated in five categories, in a universe of 223 loyalty programmes, the TAP Victoria Programme received the "210 Award" for Europe/Africa, an award assigned to the programme that gets the highest marks among the voters, making it an up-and-coming programme which the market and the industry should take notice.

    Introduced in 1988, the Freddie Awards aim to give voice to frequent flyers and honour the efforts of an industry that counts more than 300 million clients all over the world.


    The Freddie Awards are open to all loyalty programmes in the travel industry all over the world. Clients from loyalty programmes worldwide select the winners through a voting process that annually takes place between February 15 and March 31. The voters may vote for their favourite loyalty programme in one of the three geographical regions at contest — Europe/Africa, the Americas and Asia/Oceania. The criteria for choosing the winners reside in the quality of the voting and not the quantity: the participants attribute a value to each competitor in each ranking.

    The “210 Award” was given to TAP’s Victoria Programme in a competition that received, this year, a total of 25 million votes from 4,2 million frequent flyers, in 237 countries.
