Fast Track / TSA PreCheck

With these two types of service you will have priority security check at airports, so that you don't have to waste time in queues on your way to the boarding gate. Depending on your status, fare and departure airport, you can use the Fast Track or TSA PreCheck service to make your experience even smoother and more comfortable.

Available for TAP and TAP Express flights, the Fast Track service gives you priority at the security check and X-ray scanner so that you can access the boarding gate more quickly.

Customers traveling with
Top Executive and Executive tickets
Customers with
TAP Miles&Go Silver, Gold or Navigator
Customers traveling with
TAP Visa Gold, Platinum or Business cards
Customers flying with Classic and Plus fares tickets on all Ponte Aérea flights (Lisbon-Oporto, Lisbon-Funchal, Lisbon-Madrid and Lisbon-Paris outward and return) can also enjoy the Fast Track service free of charge.

How to use Fast Track / TSA PreCheck service

To use this service and have the term FAST printed on your boarding pass, please follow the steps below:

1. Add your details

Add your TAP Miles&Go Customer Number during the booking or check-in process. If you are a Customer of another airline's frequent passenger programme, you can check your eligibility by adding your Customer number from that company's programme.

2. Print the boarding pass

Once you have associated your Customer number with your booking, the word FAST will be added to your boarding pass, proving that you have access to this service.

3. Use the service

Head to the security check and X-ray scanner and save time, taking advantage of the benefits of priority access on your way to the boarding gate.

Passengers traveling on Discount, Basic, Classic and Plus fares can now book the Fast Track service, depending on the airport and the purchase channel. Passengers traveling on the remaining fares can use this service free of charge, depending on the airport.

You can check the price for Fast Track applicable to your trip while making your booking and, subsequently, in the Manage your Booking area on flyTAP (flytap.com). Prices may vary depending on the type of extra service, the purchase channel*, how much time in advance it was made, the date of the trip, as well as the origin and destination.

*Purchase channel: flyTAP (during the booking process, or, after booking, in the Manage your Booking area), Online Check-in, Kiosks and Counters at the airport, TAP Contact Center and Travel Agencies.
For transactions conducted outside Europe that use different local currencies, the service amount will be converted from the USD fixed price to the local currency (except Canada).

This service is subject to availability, is non-refundable, and does not apply to passengers who are making a connection between flights and do not wish to leave the restricted area. Only the date and time can be changed.

Available only on flights operated by TAP or operated on its behalf and TAP Express.

If you book the service after your boarding pass has been issued, you must have it reissued.

The value of this service is non-refundable, even when there is a purchase of the Upgrade service (either through auction or fixed price, with cash or miles). However, if after purchasing Fast Track, the original fare is changed and the ticket reissued for a business cabin fare, which has already included this service, then you can request a refund.

If you are traveling on an Ponte Aérea flight, you can also use this service for free, except if you have a Discount fare ticket.

More about the TSA PreCheck

Thanks to the United States Transport Security Administration's "TSA PreCheck & Digital Signature" feature, our boarding passes can be read at "fast security" checks. This feature gives you premium access to the boarding gate and is available at JFK, Boston, Chicago, Washington, San Francisco and Miami airports.

With the TSA PreCheck you will not need to:

  • Take off your shoes, belts and light coats.
  • Remove desktops and liquid containers from your bags.

Who can use the TSA PreCheck service

Passengers who are eligible under the
"Trusted Traveler" programmes
Children up to 12,
accompanied by an eligible passenger

How to use TSA PreCheck service

1. Fill out the form

To register and become an eligible passenger, simply fill out the following form.

2. Schedule a meeting

After filling out the form, you will have to schedule a meeting to introduce yourself and provide your fingerprints. You can do this at over 380 centers.

3. Add your KTN code

Once you become an eligible passenger, you will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN), which you must then add to your boarding passes.
