  1. When purchased outside the airport, the limits for the transportation of liquids on board must be respected.
  2. When bought in the shops (inside the airport) follow the final destination's local authorities rules.
  3. Handmade drinks are not allowed to be transported.
  4. Alcoholic beverages transported as hand baggage may not be consumed on board.

Can I transport other liquids like hand baggage?

Yes. However, the transport of liquids on board is allowed only in containers with a capacity of up to 100 milliliters, and without exceeding the total of 1 liter per passenger. They should be packed in a clear plastic bag with easy closing and opening system, with a size of 19cm x 20cm.

Can I transport alcoholic drinks in the hold?

Yes, with the exception of homemade drinks. However, the rules for the transport of alcoholic beverages vary according to the percentage of alcohol:

Alcoholic drinks - up to 24% alcohol:
Beverages containing less than 24% of alcohol may be transported with the restriction that the quantity must not exceed the amount allowed by the air import laws of the destination's country. All drinks should be properly packaged in their own packaging, so as to prevent them from parting, and must be transported in the original packaging (retail packaging). TAP Air Portugal is not responsible for breaking containers or spilling alcoholic beverages.

Alcoholic beverages - volume of 24 to 70% alcohol:

Can I transport televisions and other screens in the cabin or in the hold?

No For safety reasons, it is not allowed to transport this type of items. However, it is possible to carry these devices as cargo. For more information, check the TAP Air Cargo website.

Can I carry fragile items or electronic equipment on cabin or in the hold?

You can carry them in the cabin, but you should not carry them in the hold, as electronic equipment is fragile and can be damaged easily. If you are unable to transport your electronic equipment in the cabin — due to baggage limitations and capacity — we suggest that you transport it as cargo via TAP Air Cargo.
