Our new special meals will make your trips even tastier

Thinking of you, we have improved and diversified our special meals offering with new, healthier and tastier recipes: vegan, gluten-free, low-calorie, and other options for all tastes.

You can order a special meal, at no extra cost, provided that you have a flight booking and request it up to 24 hours before departure. You can request this service online – Manage Booking –, via our Contact Center, at a TAP counter, or through your Travel Agency. TAP Miles&Go Clients can book at the TAP Miles&Go Service Centre.

Special meals are available:

Economy Class – on flights of more than 5 hours’ duration;
Executive Class – on most flights of more than 90 minutes’ duration (with meal service except for overnight flights).

Vegan meal	VGML	Does not contain meat, fish, fowl, eggs, honey, dairy products or derivatives.
Lacto-ovo vegetarian meal	VLML	Does not contain meat, fish or seafood. May contain dairy products such as milk, butter, cheese and eggs.
Hindu vegetarian meal	AVML	Does not contain fish, shellfish, meat, poultry or eggs. Does not also contain onion, garlic, mushrooms, caffeine or very processed foods.
Kosher meal¹	KSML	Strictly kosher food prepared to comply with Jewish dietary laws.
Muslim meal	MOML	Does not contain pork, by-products of pork or ingredients containing alcohol. All meat and poultry products used are certified as slaughtered according to halal guidelines.
Baby meal	BBML	It consists of simple and mashed foods, meat or fish puree and fruit puree.
Children's meal	CHML	This meal is available for children ages 2-11 (inclusive) and includes food offerings that appeal to children.
Diabetic meal²	DBML	Does not contain sugars, syrups, jams, cakes and chocolate. Food with reduced carbohydrate content, less fat.
Gluten-free meal²	GFML	In the case of gluten intolerance (gluten protein). The meal is prepared without ingredients containing gluten.
Low-calorie meal	LCML	Calorie-reduced meal, rich in dietary fibre, low in fat and carbohydrates.
Low-fat meal	LFML	A high-fibre meal with reduced fat.
Low-salt meal	LSML	Does not contain salt and baking soda/powder.
Lactose-free meal	NLML	The meal is prepared without ingredients containing lactose.

On certain flights, especially those that include stopovers and overnight flights, we do not have any special meals available, except for kosher meals, which can always be requested.

These services are available only on flights operated by TAP or operated on its behalf and TAP Express.

For a diet based on ingredients approved by Muslims and the Islamic jurisprudence.

Food allergies and intolerance

In case you have a serious food allergy, you can request a special meal provided that you have a flight booking. To book your meal, simply call our Contact Center up to 7 days before your flight's departure date.

If you suffer a serious allergy from inhalation of or exposure to a particular food, TAP is not able to guarantee that the plane’s cabin is free of the allergen in question, as on board service cannot be altered and it is not possible to monitor foods or products brought on board by passengers.

We recommend that you see your doctor before travelling and carry appropriate medication in your hand luggage.
