TAP Vouchers and Compensation Cards

TAP Vouchers are electronic documents whose value can be used to purchase tickets or services on TAP Air Portugal flights.

Compensation Cards are electronic documents issued following a complaint process for compensatory purposes. They can be fully or partially converted into cash or used to purchase tickets or services on TAP flights.

  1. The card can be converted into cash by bank transfer;
  2. The card's expiry date can be consulted in the 'Valid until' field;
  3. The card is valid for paying for TAP journeys and/or services;
  4. The card can be used for online purchases at flytap.com;
  5. Up to three cards may be used in one online purchase; 
  6. If there is any remaining amount to be paid, it will only be possible to use a maximum of two cards and the remainder will be paid by credit card or by another means of payment available when paying for the online purchase;
  7. If you wish to use more than three cards for the same online purchase or if the total of three cards is not enough to pay for the entire purchase, you will need to contact our Contact Centre.
  8. The value of the card does not have to be used all at once; it can be deducted until the full value of the card is used;
  9. The remaining amount can be converted to cash by bank transfer;
  10. The card can only be used or converted into cash within its validity period. 
  11. The card can be used to pay for a ticket or service for someone other than the cardholder;
  12. No commercialisation of the credits held by the card is permitted.

  2. The voucher can be redeemed for trips and/or TAP services;
  3. The voucher can be used on online purchases at flytap.com;
  4. You may use up to three vouchers per online purchase; 
  5. If there is any outstanding amount, you can only use up to two vouchers. The remainder will be paid via credit card or any other method which is available when completing the online purchase;
  6. If you want to use more than three vouchers on the same online purchase, or if the total amount of three vouchers is not enough to pay for the entire purchase, please contact our Contact Center;
  7. You do not have to spend the entire voucher amount on a single purchase, as it will be deducted until the total amount has been used;
  8. The voucher can be used in various transactions. If the cost of the new ticket or service is lower than the voucher amount, the remaining balance can be used to pay for other trips and/or TAP services;
  9. The voucher can be used to pay for a new ticket or service on behalf of someone other than the voucher holder;
  10. Voucher credits may not be sold.

On the payment page, choose the option "Add TAP Voucher, Clearance Card or Promo Code" and enter your voucher or card number. 

The value of the voucher/card will automatically be deducted from the total purchase price.

The voucher or card cannot be combined with the Miles&Go Promo discount.  
Yes. The remaining amount will be available on the same voucher and can be used to pay for other TAP trips or services.  
Yes. You can use up to 3 vouchers, cards or both to pay for a purchase as long as there is no remaining amount to pay with a different payment method.
It is not possible to use a voucher or card online to pay for a booking that has already been made. To use a voucher or card as a form of payment for a service on a booking that has already been issued, please contact our Contact Centre.
No. The use of different vouchers or cards in the same payment implies that all vouchers or cards were issued in the same currency.
