TAP Donate Miles

Your miles can help others fly higher

With your contribution, the NGOs Helpo and Oikos continue their mission of helping the human development of the most vulnerable populations.

Thank you. Together we make a difference.

HELPO and OIKOS are grateful for the miles donated. This charity campaign was a success, so it is not possible to accept any more donations for this organisation.

The donated miles will let Helpo support Mozambican students in Maputo by awarding 3750 secondary school scholarships and 75 university scholarships, increasing access to education for disadvantaged families, abolishing financial and cultural obstacles, particularly for girls. It will also hear the stories of 20 internally displaced children in northern Mozambique, and bring them to Portugal, to highlight a problem that affects over 800,000 people who are victims of armed attacks.

Your donation will enable Oikos to make two trips to Mozambique to support teams in the regions of Maputo, Sofala, Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Manica, as part of economic recovery and food security projects; and four trips to São Tomé and Príncipe, as part of biodiversity protection and support to improve living conditions in a country whose community income and well-being depends on its natural resources.

HELPO thanks you for the miles you donated. This charity campaign was a success, so it is not possible to accept any more donations for this organisation.
Helpo — a Non-Governmental Development Organisation (NGDO) — aims to support the most vulnerable and promote their development through education and nutrition.

Outreach and funding of initiatives
Currently, these activities reach about 57,000 children and are financed through the Distance Child Sponsorship Programme, free donations, projects financed by international agencies and companies.

Oikos thanks you for the miles you donated. This charity campaign was a success, so it is not possible to accept any more donations for this organisation.

Oikos is a non-profit and public utility organisation, recognised internationally as a Non-Governmental Development Organisation (NGDO). Its mission is to reduce poverty and inequality, so that all people can enjoy the right to a decent life.

It was founded in Portugal in 1988, but since its foundation the organisation has worked on the five continents with communities in the poorest and most vulnerable countries, irrespective of their ethnic origin, language, religion or geography. Currently, in addition to Portugal, it has its own representations in Africa and Latin America.

Its activity is structured into three main areas:

  • Emergency/humanitarian action.
  • Sustainable development/living.
  • Global citizenship/mobilisation.

Social impact and ongoing actions

Current Contribution

Support to Mozambique
Mozambique is facing a serious humanitarian crisis in the north of the country. Oikos is supporting temporary shelters and foster care, immediately improving the basic conditions for survival through the distribution of kits with essential goods for food security, hygiene, shelter and protection.
