Surfer Garrett McNamara and his family visited Portugal on a Stopover

Episode 2

The American surfer used Portugal Stopover to visit Porto and the cellars of the Real Companhia Velha

Garrett McNamara is one of the greats in the world of surfing and is famous for surfing the world's biggest wave, at Nazaré, in 2011. However, his good times in Portugal don’t stop there, and Portugal Stopover has contributed to this: “The TAP Stopover is something to take advantage of. To be able to get off the plane for 24, 48, or 72 hours is just unbelievable.”
The surfer and his family visited Porto, which they toured on a tuk-tuk. “It was amazing. I would highly recommend a tuk-tuk for anybody who wants to see Porto with a very short window.” As well as visiting the city, he also loved his trip to the cellars of the Real Companhia Velha, saying that “it’s so perfect, the Stopover package. They did a perfect job implementing every type of activity that you would want to do to thoroughly experience Portugal.”
McNamara remembers the good times he had with his family: “For me right now, family time is everything. Even though I’ve been all over Portugal with my family, this was my favorite family trip.”
