Opening onto Sá da Bandeira Street, right at the entrance to the recently renovated PortoBay Teatro, Il Basilico is Porto's new Italian restaurant.
It offers a varied menu and Italian comfort food, including delicious risottos, tortellini, ravioli and the restaurant's specialty - pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. Il Basilico's kitchen is headed by chefs Pedro Spínola and Irene Vietti under the guidance of PortoBay's executive chef, Nuno Miguel. The Mediterranean decor includes light colors and light-hued wood, while the plants' green hues and natural light coming from the skylight create a fresh and cozy atmosphere. This room also features a more private and minimalist area with warm-hued lighting.
