Your contribution made a difference in 2023

Together, we helped donate 4,300 million miles

The support from TAP Miles&Go Customers to the partners of the TAP Donate Miles program allowed us to support children, teenagers and adults in vulnerable situations, with a focus on the areas of health, education and nutrition, between January and December 2023.

94 trips were made to 10 TAP destinations, in Portugal and around the world, and 4,300,000 miles were donated, allowing the missions of the program's official partners - AMI, Helpo and Terra dos Sonhos - to be carried out.

We also celebrated International Women's Day, World Children's Day and Christmas with special campaigns supporting Girl Move Academy, APPACDM and Casa da Juventude do Beato.

AMI

AMI – Assistência Médica Internacional carries out missions in the area of sexual health, development missions with expatriate teams and international projects in partnership with local organizations. In 2023, the miles collected were used for social action, logistics, communication, awareness and sustainability projects.

Access to maternal and child health, preservation of cultural heritage, and strengthening the cultural sector in Guinea-Bissau were some of the areas that benefited. These actions were also extended to the Azores and Madeira in preparation for future solidarity projects.

Internationally, AMI seeks to adapt its attention to the characteristics and needs of the context, assuming a phased intervention, with the aim of ensuring the sustainability of the development process.

HELPO

Helpo provides direct intervention support to the most vulnerable populations. In 2023, the miles used were used to send teams to support projects in Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.

In Mozambique, the miles have made it possible to promote access to higher education and prepare students to enter higher education courses at public universities. It also made it possible to provide 10 secondary schools in Maputo with computers, books and textbooks.

In São Tomé and Príncipe, the support made it possible to buy school supplies and protein to supplement the children's school meals. It has also enabled structural improvements to buildings and playgrounds at nurseries and schools, and supported scholarships to help students continue their education.

Terra dos Sonhos

Terra dos Sonhos aims to continuously promote the well-being of children, teenagers and adults in vulnerable situations. In 2023, through the miles they obtained, they helped give hope to children and teenagers with serious or terminal illnesses.

In Paris, Madrid and Lisbon, through the Sonhos Transformados (Transformed Dreams) and Experiência de Sonho (Dream Experience) programs, they were able to bring smiles and hope to these children, teenagers and their caregivers.

These trips allowed them to change their routines and experience unforgettable moments as they visited Disneyland, watched a match of the Portuguese national team, took a surfing lesson and a programming course.
