    • On long-haul flights, choose an overnight trip so that children sleep during the flight.
    • Take their favourite blanket or teddy on board so they feel more comfortable.
    • Bring toys to entertain them during the trip.
    • Walk with the children around the airport, while waiting to board.
    • Be among the first to board the aircraft so it is easier to get settled in.

    Newborn babies

Air travel is not recommended during the first 7 days of life.
In emergencies, TAP must be contacted so that its medical services can assess the situation.

Hold baggage permitted for children is equivalent to the baggage allowance of an adult.
The baggage allowance for infants is different. Infants are entitled to own a piece of baggage up to 10 kg (in the Discount fare - no free baggage allowance included).
You can carry a cot into the cabin as hand luggage, or check it in the hold, and also take food on board for the child or baby to eat during the flight.
Use the baggage simulator to know what baggage you can transport.
