Let's give the world a taste of Portuguese talent

The Local Stars project aims to elevate your onboard experience and showcase new Portuguese talent to the world, honoring the richness of our country's cuisine.

We invited six talents from Portuguese gastronomy, who work in kitchens from the north to the south of the country. Each of the Chefs will create two complete menus, which will be available in our Business (on long-haul flights departing from Lisbon) for two months each.

From April to July 2026, Chef Ricardo Luz

Marking a new chapter in the mission that has always guided him, over the next four months Chef Ricardo Luz will be striving to bring the flavours and essence of Portugal to audiences beyond its borders through his menus.

Regarded as one of the most prominent figures in the new generation of Portuguese gastronomy, and winner of the 2019 Chef of the Year award, Ricardo Luz is currently executive chef at the restaurant Authentic, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful and inspiring venues in the country. Located in Almancil, it was one of the highlights of the 2026 edition of the Michelin Guide, having been included in the list of recommended restaurants.

As well as his work at the restaurant, Ricardo Luz is an ambassador chef for the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council), the world’s leading organisation dedicated to sustainable fishing. Through this partnership, he promotes the importance of environmental responsibility and the protection of the oceans, reflecting these values in his cooking.

April and May Menu

  • Starter: codfish marinated salad, onion textures
  • Main Course: Meagre, sweet potato purée and coriander, sautéed turnip greens
  • Dessert: Olive oil, honey and walnut traditional cake

June and July Menu

  • Starter: Algarve salad with fish and potatoes, citrus vinaigrette
  • Main Course: Veal terrine, potatoes with parsley and paprika, sautéed green beans
  • Dessert: "Dom Rodrigo" traditional Algarve dessert (egg yolks, almonds, and cinnamon)
