The booking of an extra seat in the cabin, for the transport of your musical instrument, can only be made through the TAP Contact Center, a TAP counter at the airport or a Travel Agency.

If you carry more pieces of baggage than permitted by your fare, or exceed the maximum weight and size limits described above, additional airport transport service fees will apply. These fees are non-refundable.

(1) For the instrument already packed, the following maximum permitted dimensions apply: 330 cm / 130 in (height x length x width).
For most destinations, the packed instrument cannot exceed 45 kg / 99 lbs. However, if the trip has a destination, origin or stopover in the USA, Hungary, France, United Kingdom, Ireland or the Netherlands, the weight limit is 32 kg / 70 lbs.
If your booking was made through a travel agency, you can purchase special baggage for musical instruments directly from the agent.
The prices for special baggage for musical instruments may vary depending on the purchase channel*, the advance purchase time, the travel date, and the origin and destination. Check the applicable price for checked special baggage during the booking process or, later, on Manage your Booking.For transactions made outside of Europe, which use a different local currency, the service fee will be converted from the fixed USD amount to the local currency (except Canada).
