What you can put in the hold with your fare

The number of items you can carry free of charge in the hold on TAP flights depends on your fare and destination:

Maximum weight for checked bags in Business Class for all routes. Bags over this weight will be carried as cargo.

Baby and children’s baggage allowed in the hold

Babies under 2 years old

If you are travelling with a baby up to 2 years old, you can additionally put in the hold:

Baggage weighing up to 10 kg and the sum of the 3 dimensions shall not exceed 115cm / 45in (except in Discount).
1 fully foldable pram or 1 basket or 1 child’s seat, if you are travelling on the Discount fare.

Children aged 2 to 11

The checked baggage allowance for children is the same as an adult, which depends on the fare, route and status.

Prices may vary depending on the channel you purchase from, how far in advance you purchase, the date of the trip, the origin and destination, and the type of extra service.

For transactions conducted outside Europe that use different local currencies, the service amount will be converted from the USD fixed price to the local currency (except Canada).

The value of this service is non-refundable, even when there is a purchase of the Upgrade service (either through auction or fixed price, with cash or miles). However, if after purchase of extra luggage, the original fare is changed and the ticket reissued for a business cabin fare, which has already included this service, then you can request a refund.

Take care packing your bags

Identification: Put your name and address on your bag. Always check the identification when you check it in and collect it.
Lock: Always lock your bag. Do not overfill the bag so it can be properly locked and not tear.
Protection: Do not carry any items for other people without knowing what they are. You are liable for everything you carry.
