General check-in conditions

Find out the check-in times at the airport you are leaving from. Don’t be late to catch your flight.

Available starting at:

36 hours Before departure.
24 Hours Before departure to and from the USA.

No checked baggage - If you check-in online, via the mobile application or at the self check-in kiosks, you can go directly to the boarding gate. However, at Algiers, Accra, Caracas, Casablanca, Marrakesh and Tangier airports you should go to a check-in counter to get access.
With checked baggage - You must leave it at the drop-off desk in the airport.

To ensure that your flight leaves on time, all passengers must be at the boarding gate 30 minutes before the departure time.

TAP would like to inform passengers that it may take more than 30 minutes for the Immigration and Borders Service (SEF) at Portuguese airports to process documents.

To prevent flight delays and avoid no shows at the gate, TAP advises all passengers on intercontinental and non-Schengen flights to check the SEF waiting times and plan their arrival at the border control desks accordingly.

Passengers with electronic documents should use the automatic passport control gates whenever possible.
