Altitude Film Fest: we take international cinema to new heights!

Cinema flies higher with the Altitude Film Fest

Altitude Film Fest returns. In 2026, the 3rd edition of the only film festival screened and voted on exclusively at altitude takes off, introducing a new category dedicated to film students.

In this edition, we continue our mission to showcase the best of Portugal and Portuguese culture through cinema, bringing together artists from around the world.

Short films can be submitted from 1 March to 30 April. In September and October, passengers on our long-haul flights will then decide the winners.

Join TAP and Altitude Film Fest as we celebrate Portuguese cinema.

Step aboard and take up the challenge

As in previous editions, the festival will feature the Fiction and Documentary categories. Short films must not exceed 30 minutes and should be produced in Portugal and/or relate to the country and Portuguese culture.

After the submission period — from 1 March to 30 April — a specialised jury will assess the entries and select the finalist short films to be featured on TAP’s in-flight entertainment system.

By 26 June, finalists will be notified. In September and October, the decision will then pass to TAP passengers, who will be able to watch and vote for their favourite short films on board.
