Now you can lock in the price of your trip for 48 hours to make sure the cost of your booking won’t change.

To do this, just pre-book online using Time to Think.

Think about where you want to go, select the Time to Think option in the online booking process and talk your friends and family into joining you on this adventure!

This way you can lock in the most attractive price without the risk of losing your flight.

2. Save your booking for 48 hours

This option is available for bookings made at least 96 hours before the scheduled flight departure.

3. Complete your pre-booking

by filling in the fields “Booking number” and “Surname” - under "Complete your Time to Think pre-booking".

Frequently asked questions

Where can I pre-book my flight?

You can only do this through our online booking system by selecting the option Time to Think.

When can I use the Time to Think option?

Time to Think is only available for bookings made at least 96 hours before the flight departure.

If you try to book a flight less than 96 hours prior to departure, the Time to Think option will not be available.

If you have a promotion code or conference code, or if you want to book with miles, the Time to Think option will also not be available.

How long will my booking stay in the system?

The pre-booking will be saved for 48 hours. If you do not complete the Time to Think process within that time, the booking will be automatically cancelled.

How much does it cost to use Time to Think?

The table below shows the charges per person (adult or child), except for infants under 2 years of age, as long as they are below that age limit during all legs of the journey.

What methods of payment are accepted?

Payment for this service can be made by credit card or through iDEAL or Alipay pay services.

How do I complete my Time to Think pre-booking?

To complete your Time to Think pre-booking you can:

Fill out the fields “Reservation number” and “Surname” under “Complete your Time to Think pre-booking";
Use the link in the Time to Think confirmation email you received;
Access your pre-booking through your TAP Client Area.

Can I make changes to my Time to Think pre-booking?

To make any changes to your pre-booking (such as times, dates, flights, routes, type of passenger, etc.), you will have to cancel the Time to Think pre-booking or let it expire.

The charge paid for the service will not be refunded.

Can I book extras for my flight with a Time to Think pre-booking?

Other services (such as seat selection, upgrades, extra baggage, etc.) can only be booked after you complete your pre-booking. Find out what’s available here.

Do I have the right to a refund?

No. The charge for this service in non-refundable.

The charge will only be refunded if there is some irregularity (if the airline changes the flight or time) that occurs during the 48-hour period of the pre-booking and the alternatives offered by the airline are not accepted by the passenger.

What types of payment are accepted for issuing my ticket?

Several methods of payment are available. You can pay using an ATM (in the Portuguese market), a credit card, Paypal, iDEAL or Alipay.

Can I use Time to Think for a Stopover?

Because the client can book the Stopover hotel during the booking process, the Time to Think option is not available for a Stopover. Unlike travel, the hotel cannot be pre-booked, making Time to Think incompatible with a Stopover.
