When and how to purchase

Purchase your Chubb Travel Insurance when booking your flight online with TAP, in the official language of your country or in English. Choose the Insurance option according to the type, start date and duration of the trip at the stage before paying for your booking.

Coverages and conditions

  • Cancellation costs up to the policy limit + flight cost if you are diagnosed with a contagious disease (1);
  • Reduction costs if you are diagnosed with a contagious disease (1);
  • Medical expenses and repatriation if you are diagnosed with a contagious disease (1);
  • Refund in case of cancellation for reasons such as illness, injury and others + expenses related to medical emergency incidents (before the trip);
  • Flight cancellation costs and emergency medical care (during the trip);
  • Refund in case of lost, stolen or damaged baggage;
  • Compensation for any inconveniences during the trip (including flight delays or cancellations).

Note: Insurance does not cover situations where, at the time of booking, there were already travel warnings issued by government authorities advising against traveling to your destination.

(1) Your inability to travel must be confirmed by a doctor and the disease (including COVID-19 and its variants) proven by a positive (or relevant) PCR test.

Right of Withdrawal

If you purchase travel insurance online, you may withdraw from your policy within 14 calendar days of the purchase date, free of charge and without needing to provide a reason, in accordance with applicable legislation.

To exercise your right of withdrawal , please submit your request directly to Chubb before the end of the withdrawal period or before your scheduled departure date, whichever comes first.

Important information

  • Travel insurance policies with a duration of less than one month cannot be cancelled under the right of withdrawal.
  • The right of withdrawal may no longer be available if you have already submitted a claim under the policy.
  • Withdrawal requests submitted after the applicable deadline cannot be accepted.
