All passengers traveling to Continental Portugal, either as a final destination, in transit or transfer, must complete this online form after checking-in for the flight.
The proof of the filled out form will need to be presented at control points.
As per the directive of the Portuguese Government (Despacho n.º 2207-A/2021, of February 26, 2021), entry into Portuguese territory is only authorized for:
- Passengers on flights from countries belonging to the European Union, countries associated with the Schengen Area (Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland). To/from Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Slovakia, Slovenia, Estonia, France, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Sweden and Switzerland, travel is limited to essential reasons. Nationals of third countries traveling from/to the countries above mentioned are obliged to proof the reason of travel (professional, study, family meeting, health or humanitarian reasons).
- Passengers on flights from countries whose epidemiological situation is in accordance with Council Recommendation (EU) 2020/1551, of 22 October 2020.
- Passengers on flights from countries that are not members of the European Union or that are not countries associated with the Schengen Area, exclusively for essential travel, thus:
- Citizens of the European Union, nationals of States associated with the Schengen Area and members of their families, in accordance to the Directive 2004/38 / EC, of the Parliament and of the Council, and third-country nationals legally resident in a Member State of the European Union;
- Third-country nationals traveling for professional, study, family reunion, health or humanitarian reasons.
- Citizens of the European Union, nationals of States associated with the Schengen Area and members of their families, in accordance to the Directive 2004/38 / EC, of the Parliament and of the Council, and third-country nationals legally resident in a Member State of the European Union;
- Passengers on repatriation or humanitarian flights organized in accordance with the law.
COVID TEST WITH A NEGATIVE RESULT MANDATORY IN ORDER TO BOARD
Mandatory PCR tests are only accepted in: portuguese, french, english, spanish and italian.
They can be presented in paper or digital format (excluding results received by SMS on the mobile phone).
Passengers coming from the autonomous regions of Madeira and Azores are exempt from the presentation of a test for boarding in Mainland Portugal (although they must comply with the rules of the country of destination if boarding in the mainland is for the purpose of transferring to another country).
Passengers referred in paragraph a), entering or transiting through Portugal must present proof of laboratory testing (RT PCR) for the screening of SARS-CoV-2, with a negative result, performed within 72 hours prior to the time of departure, or they will be denied boarding. (including Portuguese citizens, residing in Portugal and their families).
- Exception: Children who have not completed 24 months of age;
- In addition to the negative test, passengers must quarantine for 14 days at their residence or other location determined by the Portuguese authorities and pre-register at https://travel.sef.pt (except if the permanence in Portugal does not exceed 48h), if arriving from: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Slovenia, Estonia, France, Hungary, Italy, Malta Poland and Sweden.
All passengers referred in paragraphs b), c) and d) entering or transiting thru Portugal must present proof of laboratory testing (RT-PCR) for the screening of SARS-CoV-2, with a negative result, performed within 72 hours prior to the time of departure, or they will be denied boarding. (including Portuguese citizens, residing in Portugal and their families).
- Exception: Children who have not completed 24 months of age;
Flights from/to Brazil and UK remain suspended as per the same decree.
Passengers with confirmed bookings on affected journeys are advised not to go to the airports and contact directly the TAP Contact Center.
Permitted flights:
- Cargo flights
- Humanitarian and repatriation
- Of national citizens and their family members permanent residents
- EU citizens, nationals of countries associated to Schengen area and their families and
- Third countries nationals with legal residence in an EU country
- Of national citizens and their family members permanent residents
Passengers travelling under these conditions must:
- National citizens and permanent residents
- Pre-register here.
- Provide the negative COVID19 test result, performed within the last 72h before boarding, or the boarding and entry to Portugal may be denied and
- Complete a 14-day quarantine upon arrival.
- Nationals of the EU, nationals of countries associated to Schengen area and their families and third countries nationals with legal residence in an EU country

- Upon arrival at a Portuguese airport, must wait for the connecting flight in a designated location inside the airport.

Passengers entering Portugal originating from Brazil, UK or South Africa, travelling thru other countries, must:
- Pre-register here;
- Provide the negative COVID19 test result, performed within the last 72h before boarding (except children under 24 months);
- Complete a 14-day quarantine upon arrival.
