Passengers arriving from: South Africa, India or Nepal must quarantine for 14 days at their residence or other location determined by the Portuguese authorities (except if the stay in Portugal does not exceed 48h), and must present the pre-register online form available here. (Passengers travelling from the mentioned countries who do not present the form will not be allowed to travel.)

Additionally, all passengers traveling to Continental Portugal, either as a final destination, in transit or transfer, must complete this online form after checking-in for the flight.
The proof of the filled out form will need to be presented at control points.
 


As per the directive of the Portuguese Government, entry into Portuguese territory is only authorized for:
  1. Passengers on flights from countries belonging to the European Union, countries associated with the Schengen Area (Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland), United Kingdom, USA, Canada and Brazil
  2. Passengers on flights from countries whose epidemiological situation is in accordance with Council Recommendation (EU) 2020/1551, of 22 October 2020.
  3. Passengers on flights from countries that are not members of the European Union or that are not countries associated with the Schengen Area (other than United Kingdom, USA, Canada and Brazil), exclusively for essential reasons (*) (**)
  4. Passengers on repatriation or humanitarian flights organized in accordance with the law.

(*) Essential reasons are: professional, study, family reunion, health or humanitarian reasons.
(**) No essential reasons are required for passengers holding an EU Digital Covid Recovery/Vaccination Certificate, or a vaccination/recovery certificate issued by third countries (see: acceptance conditions for third country certificates)

Test requirements:
Passengers entering or transiting thru Portugal must present proof of testing for the screening of SARS-CoV-2 with a negative result, or they will be denied boarding. (including Portuguese citizens, residing in Portugal and their families): 

  • NAAT - Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (RT-PCR, NEAR, TMA, LAMP, HDA, CRISPR, SDA, etc), performed within 72 hours prior to the time of departure on the 1st embarkation point,
    OR
  • An antigen test (TRAg) performed within 48 hours prior to the time of departure on the 1st embarkation point. 

Exceptions:

  • Children who have not completed 12 yrs
  • Passengers presenting a valid EU Digital Covid certificate (see: Acceptance conditions for EU Covid certificates
  • Passengers presenting a valid recovery/vaccination certificate issued by a third country (see: acceptance conditions for third country certificates)

The mandatory tests can only be accepted in Portuguese, French, Spanish, English and Italian. An element that must be stated is the time and date at which the test was carried out.

Acceptable formats are paper and electronic (but not mobile text messages – SMS).

NHS tests and Trace Test performed in the United Kingdom are not valid for travel.

Only antigen tests acceptable by the European Union Health Committee are accepted for travel as well as the inimum data that must be present on the test result document as set by the same entity (see here).

Passengers are responsible to verify if their test meets the requirements.

Passengers travelling from the Madeira and Azores Islands are exempted from presenting the negative covid test to enter mainland Portugal (unless transferring to other country, in which case the destination rules apply).

Quarantine requirements:
Passengers that have been in South Africa, India, Nepal for the last 14 days, must quarantine for 14 days at their residence or facility determined by the authorities and present a pre-register online form available here(unless in transfer or if their stay in Portugal does not exceed 48h).

Quarantine is not mandatory for passengers presenting a valid EU Digital Covid recovery/vaccination certificate or a recovery/vaccination certificate issued by third countries (see: acceptance conditions for third country certificates).

Acceptance conditions for UE Digital Covid Certificates:

  • Vaccination certificate, declaring a complete and valid vaccination, with a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by Regulation(CE) n.º 726/2004. Vaccination is considered valid after 14 days from:
    • The single dose of a single dose vaccine, OR;
    • The second dose of a two-dose vaccine (even each dose is of a different vaccine), OR;
    • A single dose of a two-dose vaccine, if the certificate indicates that the single dose concludes the vaccination plan, for people that have already been infected with COVID-19
  • Recovery certificate, declaring that the person has recovered from COVID-19 infection, in result of a positive NAAT test with at least 11 days and no more than 180 days
  • Negative Test certificate (NAAT test performed within 72 hours prior to the time of departure on the 1st embarkation point OR antigen test performed within 48 hours prior to the time of departure on the 1st embarkation point)

Acceptance conditions for third countries certificates:

  • The acceptance of these certificates is based on reciprocity, meaning, Portugal only accepts certificates from countries that accept the EU digital covid certificate
  • The certificates must comply with the following rules:
    • Vaccination certificate, declaring a complete and valid vaccination, with a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by Regulation (CE) n.º 726/2004. Vaccination is considered valid after 14 days from:
      • The single dose of a single dose vaccine, OR;
      • The second dose of a two-dose vaccine (even each dose is of a different vaccine), OR;
      • A single dose of a two-dose vaccine, if the certificate indicates that the single dose concludes the vaccination plan, for people that have already been infected with COVID-19
      The certificate must have at least the following info:
      1. Name(s) and last name (s) of the holder
      2. Date of birth
      3. Name of the disease (COVID-19 / SARS-Cov-2 or a variant)
      4. Vaccine against COVID-19 or prophylaxis
      5. Name of the vaccine against COVID-19
      6. Holder of the authorization for introduction on the market, or vaccine manufacturer name
      7. Serial number of the shots and total number of shots in that series
      8. Data of vaccination, referring the date of the last administrated dose
      9. Country where the vaccine was administrated
      10. Entity that issued the certificate

    • Recovery certificate, declaring that the person has recovered from COVID-19 infection, in result of a positive NAAT test with at least 11 days and no more than 180 days
      The certificate must have at least the following info:
      1. Name(s) and last name (s) of the holder
      2. Date of birth
      3. Name of the disease (COVID-19 / SARS-Cov-2 or a variant) from which the holder recovered
      4. Date of the first positive result
      5. Country that issued the certificate
      6. Entity that issued the certificate
      7. Date from which the certificate is valid

 

NOTES:

  • The certificates can be presented digitally or in paper
  • Presenting valid UE COVID digital certificate (only recovery or vaccination) or a third country valid vaccination/recovery certificate exempts passengers from quarantine upon arrival and essential reasons for travel
  • Minors travelling with a responsible adult that holds a recovery or vaccination certificate are exempted from quarantine upon arrival.

For some destinations it is mandatory that passengers complete an online form, prior to the flight, proof of which will need to be presented at control points upon arrival, verify below if this is needed in your case. For destinations that do not have an online form, passengers will be requested to fill out a form during the flight.

It is the passenger’s responsibility to comply with all government policies and entry requirements, for example the need to fill out forms and/or Covid-19 testing. Failure to do so may result in denied boarding for the flight or entry to the destination.

Symptomatic passengers identified at the airport by public health authorities may be refused to continue their journey.

Use of a face mask is mandatory on board all TAP flights. Therefore, all our passengers, aged over 6, must be equipped with one and guarantee that it is used during the entire duration of the journey.

The use of a face mask will only be exempted for passengers who are proven to have health problems that cannot use it. In these cases, prior to the flight and in order to travel, the passenger must have a medical authorization (MEDIF). Otherwise, boarding will be denied.

We also advise our passengers to inform themselves on specific regulations that may exist at their points of origin and destination, for example that fact that it is already compulsory at many airports to wear a face mask.

Aufgrund der beschränkten Raumkapazitäten unserer Flugzeuge zu bestimmten Zeiten des Jahres teilen wir Ihnen mit, dass das Zubuchen von Zusatzgepäck bei Reisen mit den folgenden Flugzielen eingeschränkt ist:

* Hinweis: Für das End-Ziel Bissau wird die Sommersaison mit Embargo bis zum 30. September 2021 verlängert.
Für das End-Ziel Bissau wird die Weihnachtszeit mit Embargo auf den 13. November 2021 vorgezogen.
Endziel Conakry, die Sommerperiode sollte nur vom 10. Juli 2021 bis 8. August 2021, und die Weihnachtszeit vom 16. Dezember 2021 bis 29. Dezember 2021 berücksichtigt werden.
Endziel Dakar, die Sommerperiode sollte nur vom 24. Juni 2021 bis 31. August 2021 berücksichtigt werden.
Conakry-Ausgangspunkt, Sommerperiode nur vom 30. Juli 2021 bis 6. September 2021, und die Neujahrsperiode vom 1. Januar 2022 bis 10. Januar 2022. zu berücksichtigen.

Bei Flügen mit dem Ziel Abidjan, Accra, Bissau, Conakry, Dakar, Praia, São Tomé und São Vincente sowie bei Flügen ab Abidjan, Accra und Conakry kann kein Übergepäck (Gewicht und/oder Abmessungen) zu dem im Tarif ausgewiesenen Gepäck hinzugefügt werden. Es ist kein zusätzliches Gepäck und auch kein Transport von Tieren, Sportausrüstungen oder Musikinstrumenten im Laderaum möglich. Es wird lediglich die im Ticket angegebene Anzahl an Gepäckstücken zugelassen, deren Abmessung in der Summe der drei Dimensionen (Höhe, Breite, Länge) 158 cm nicht überschreitet, und zwar mit einem Gewicht von maximal 23 kg in der Economy Class und von 32 kg in der Executive Class.

Die Beschränkung gilt für alle Tickets, unabhängig von der Art des erworbenen Produkts oder vom Vielfliegerstatus, ausgenommen Discount-Tickets, bei denen lediglich ein Gepäckstück hinzugefügt werden kann.

Wir bitten um Entschuldigung für jegliche Unannehmlichkeit, die durch diesen Umstand bedingt sein könnte.
Gemäß Gesetzesdekret Nr. 22-A /2021 der portugiesischen Regierung, werden portugiesische Dokumente mit einem Ablaufdatum nach dem 31. März 2021 als gültig bis zum 31. Dezember 2021 angesehen.


Die Dokumente behalten ihre Gültigkeit nach diesem Datum nur dann, wenn der Besitzer bzw. die Besitzerin den Nachweis erbringt, dass er bzw. sie die Verlängerung bereits bei den zuständigen Behörden beantragt hat.


Gilt für die folgenden portugiesischen Dokumente: Bürgerkarten, Bescheinigungen und Zertifikate, die von den zuständigen zivilen Ausweisbehörden ausgestellt wurden, Führerscheine, Dokumente und Visa im Zusammenhang mit dem gewöhnlichen Aufenthalt auf dem Staatsgebiet, sowie Lizenzen und Genehmigungen.
Die Gesamtnettomenge aller von jedem Fluggast beförderten Artikel darf 2 kg oder 2 l nicht überschreiten und die Nettomenge jedes einzelnen Artikels darf 0,5 kg oder 0,5 l nicht überschreiten.

Händedesinfektionsmittel auf Alkoholbasis sind als Handgepäck oder aufgegebenes Gepäck zulässig. Es ist jedoch zu beachten, dass, wenn Fluggäste das Händedesinfektionsmittel in ihrem Handgepäck mit sich tragen möchten, die Grenze von 100 ml oder Äquivalent pro Artikel für Flüssigkeiten und Gele gemäß den Luftsicherheitsbestimmungen gilt (wenn von den zuständigen Behörden keine örtliche Ausnahme festgelegt wurde).

Bitte beachten Sie, dass solche Artikel nicht auf Flugzeugausrüstungen oder Oberflächen verwendet werden dürfen, da die Nutzung dieser Artikel nicht vom Flugzeughersteller genehmigt wurde.
